First LookBook

Dear Diary,

Designer perks items are things I do not often wear but as a designer for fashion and textiles, loving fashion brands and being influenced by well established ones is my interest. I always believe in treating myself when possible and can afford it to items I crave for and do this as a treat once in a while, on special days like my birthdays. Like I had mentioned in my last post that I created three looks for my recent birthday on the 6th of July.

These were the three looks I created.

LOOK 1- Casual to go!

An urban casual look to go to The Dorchester with subtle greys, cream and nudes tones. Embroidery detailing and prints; Kenzo Jumper, Paige ( high rise- Margot) Jeans, Chanel reflective glasses, a Gucci canvas print tote handbag with the ss16 Espadrilles .

I had to get a piece from this fabulous oil painting floral print range from Gucci’s spring/summer16 range

LOOK 2The Afternoon Tea

Matching top and bottom’s from Cecilie Copenhagen’s characteristic A/W16 print collection that was made from scarves. What I love from this brand is the way they have created fashion statement clothing out of Arab Shemagh scarf prints, with woven pattern and treads on a cotton fabric.

This look consist of a matching top and bottom Cecilie Copenhagen, an Asos snake skin side clutch and Giuseppe Zanotti ss16 heels.

LOOK 3Dinner Party (The tailor made dress in detail)

Look tailor made dress and Valentio Garavani; Pink and Nude

For this look I thought to be different and go for a sophisticated young and chic look, with a see through bottom which is very much in trend instead of wearing a regular maxi evening grown. The inspiration for this look and style was gathered from this image.

Fabrics used were- Beaded lace, Nude Satin stretch fabric and two Veil Tulle Netting – Mesh (I wanted to appliqué the lace patterns to the nude mesh). Getting the right fabrics for this look wasn’t so easy but ended well.

I have had comments about the dress looking bridal, which was not the response I wanted. However, I understand why people will say that because the fabrics, length and colour can be used to create a bridal garment.

Thanks for reading this!
